Dear Members, This year we expect to host the biggest Homecoming
Celebration ever with seminars given by Fred Lanting and Dr. George
Padgett! Enclosed you will find everything you need to prepare for your
trip. Please take the time to read all of the forms carefully. Do not wait
for the deadline! The MENU for all 4 days is enclosed. Please send in your reservation prior to July 2nd. The Silver Springs Dairy Bar closes for Homecoming week, so that the girls can prepare things for your convenience! Meals are served right at the park for all 4 days! When you consider the fact that you will receive full restaurant service, with fantastic (all you can eat) homecooked meals, plus lots of snacks & drinks for only $35. per day, you must admit that you are getting a bargain! To travel to other restuarants 9-14 miles away, and pay more, would be ludicrous. If your order is not in by the deadline, you will have to find another place to eat. Please be sure to call them if you have any specific questions. Where else can you bring your dogs inside with you, while you eat? ENTRY FORMS must be filled out and mailed in prior to July 18h. We will accept entries right up until 6PM for the next days show, but at a doubled rate! This is a very hectic week for everyone, and "last minute" entries create a lot of extra work! If you are not sure about what class your dog belongs in, here is a quick overview. · Puppy classes are broken up by age of dog (on the day of the show) These dogs get some extra "ring time" and the judges are more lenient with the (owner) handlers! If your dog is UNDER 24 months of age, that is where he/she belongs!· Novice Class is for older dogs that have not had much show experience.· American Bred is good for a dog that has been to shows, but never won.· Bred By is only for dogs that are BRED & handled by YOU, or a member of your immediate family.· Open is for dogs that have already earned points, and now are just trying to finish their Championships!· If you still have a question, please call Lisa at (716) 567-8040.· The Temperament Test is an evaluation that you must pass to upgrade your Shilohs papers. Homecoming provides you with an opportunity to complete this requirement. Please read the entry form carefully & circle the test you plan on taking & the shows you plan to attend.TROPHY DONATIONS will be greatly appreciated. Even if you are unable to attend this years 27th Shiloh Anniversary Reunion, please send in a trophy donation! You name/kennel name will be printed right on the front! Example; Best in Show (next line) donated by Zion Kennels (OR) your name or kennel name! Please show your support for this breed! Our expenses for the park rental, tents, tables, chairs, etc. judges fees & expensee, decorations, etc.. run well over $3000! With nearly another $4,000 needed for Trophies, Medallions, Ribbons, Rosettes, etc. these costs start to become astronomical! The entry fees alone just cannot cover them! We want everyone that comes here to have a great time, and not go home empty handed! For that reason we have all of the specials classes, where medallions are awarded to our furry friends, for whatever they can do. If you plan on coming, start thinking of a "cute trick" or costume your dog can wear, etc and plan to attend these fun classes with all of the other "special dogs We are all looking forward to this years event, and hope you plan on joining us!
